Renny Buchanan

Buchanan joined the program in 2026 with an impressive combination of collegiate, semi-professional, and international playing experience along with a strong commitment to faith-based leadership and student-athlete development.

Buchanan was a two-time All-American and team captain at John Brown University, where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering. Following her standout career at JBU, she utilized her fifth year of eligibility at South Dakota State University, helping lead the Jackrabbits to a conference tournament championship and an appearance in the NCAA Tournament while studying Spanish.

Most recently, Buchanan competed professionally for Dimas Escazú in Costa Rica’s first division, gaining experience in a highly technical and possession-oriented style of play as a center back.

In addition to her collegiate and professional success, Buchanan spent three summers competing with the Charlotte Eagles semi-professional team, where she also demonstrated leadership off the field by leading Bible studies for teammates. Her dedication to integrating faith and athletics has remained a consistent theme throughout her playing and coaching journey.
