Hannah Jo Riley was promoted to Assistant Athletic Director for Communications and Brand Advancement in July of 2026. In her current role, she is the primary contact for men's basketball and men's soccer, while having direct oversight for sports information, ESPN+ broadcasting, digital media, athletics social media, and licensing and branding.
She has previously served as the Director of Athletics Communications and Digital Media, the Associate Director of Communications, and the Assistant Director of Communications since joining Lipscomb in February 2021. She served as the Director of Communications and Digital Media since 2022 as the sports information contact for men's soccer, men's basketball, men's golf, and women's golf while overseeing all communications and digital media efforts for Lipscomb's 17 Division I sports. In previous roles, she has also served as the sports information contact for women's basketball, baseball, volleyball, softball, cross country, and track and field.
Prior to being promoted to director, Riley joined the Lipscomb staff in February of 2021 as Assistant Director of Athletic Communications before being elevate to Associate Director of Athletic Communications in February of 2022 and oversaw communications responsibilities for women's basketball, baseball, men's soccer and cross country / track & field.
Prior to Lipscomb, Riley worked at Virginia Commonwealth University as Assistant Director of Athletic Communications. At VCU she was the primary communications contact for the baseball, men’s soccer and women’s soccer teams. She also served in a support role for men’s and women’s basketball.
Prior to VCU, Riley worked at Belmont University as a graduate assistant where she was the primary media relations contact for men’s soccer and baseball as well as the secondary contact for men’s basketball. She ran Belmont’s social media efforts during its historic 2019 men’s basketball NCAA Tournament run. During her time in Nashville, Riley was also part of the communications staff at Nashville Soccer Club, USL Championship club, where she assisted with communications during its inaugural season. She also contributed to the communications efforts surrounding the Nashville Soccer Club MLS franchise brand launch.
As an undergrad at Belmont, Riley assisted in the athletic communications office serving as the primary contact for cross country and track & field.
Riley is a 2017 graduate of Belmont University, where she graduated cum laude with a B.A. in Entertainment Industry Studies/Sports Media from the Curb College of Entertainment and Music Business. She is also a 2019 graduate of Belmont with a Master of Sport Administration. A native of Murray, Kentucky, she currently resides in Nashville
