McMahon was named assistant coach in May of 2025, completing head coach Kevin Carroll's coaching staff.
McMahon comes to Lipscomb after spending the prior two seasons as a graduate assistant at Vanderbilt University. While at Vanderbilt, McMahon was part of a staff that improved the teams’ win total by 11 games in the 2024-25 season and led the Commodores to an at-large bid to the 2025 NCAA Tournament where it narrowly fell to No. 7 Saint Mary’s in the Cleveland regional.
McMahon was a four-year letterwinner at Presbyterian College from 2019-2023 where he was a 2022 NABC Honors Court member. McMahon is a native of Hickory, N.C. and graduated from Presbyterian with a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science with a minor in history. He recently graduated with a Master’s in Education in Leadership and Organizational Performance from Vanderbilt University’s Peabody College.
