McMahon was named assistant coach in May of 2025, completing head coach Kevin Carroll's coaching staff.
McMahone was an part of Lipscomb's 2025-26 success where the squad won 19 games, went 12-6 in the ASUN, and 13-1 at home. He helped guide the Bisons to a No. 4 overall seed in the ASUN Tournament and a first-round bye. He was part of coaching five All-ASUN selections, including First Team All-ASUN honoree Grant Asman and Third Team All-ASUN honoree Mateo Esmeraldo.
McMahon came to Lipscomb after spending the prior two seasons as a graduate assistant at Vanderbilt University. While at Vanderbilt, McMahon was part of a staff that improved the teams’ win total by 11 games in the 2024-25 season and led the Commodores to an at-large bid to the 2025 NCAA Tournament where it narrowly fell to No. 7 Saint Mary’s in the Cleveland regional.
McMahon was a four-year letterwinner at Presbyterian College from 2019-2023 where he was a 2022 NABC Honors Court member. McMahon is a native of Hickory, N.C. and graduated from Presbyterian with a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science with a minor in history. He recently graduated with a Master’s in Education in Leadership and Organizational Performance from Vanderbilt University’s Peabody College.
