Women's Golf Set For ASUN Championship

BRASELTON, Ga. - The Lipscomb women's golf team travels down to Georgia to compete for the conferece crown at the 30th ASUN Championship held on the Legends Course at Chateau Elan Golf Club April 21-23.

The Bisons are coming into the contest off a 10th place finish at the Jan Weaver Invitational back on April 5-6 and have had a few weeks to prepare for the biggest tournament of the year and head coach Jesse Lawley has got her squad prepared for the challenge.

"Conference last year was not our best and our conference is extremley tough with two top-70 teams in the country," Lawley said. "However, the team has really grown and matured over the last year with the top five primarily staying the same all year.

"There is a lot of new faces who have never seen this course before so the practice round is key. The girls have prepared all year for this very tournament and gained so much experience and I look forward to seeing how far we have come since August."

The championship will begin on Sunday with 18-holes and will continue with 18-holes on Monday and Tuesday. The course is a par-73 that will run at 6,083 yards.
