Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

Hot shooting leads Bisons to blowout win of Crowley's Ridge

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Lipscomb men's basketball team kicked off the Christmas break in style, scoring a season-high in points and hitting 12 three-pointers in a 97-60 rout of Crowley's Ridge College Monday afternoon in Allen Arena.

Romeao Ferguson led four Bisons in double figures with 14 points after shooting 6-of-7 from the floor. Carson Cary made his first-career start and poured in 13 with a game-high three triples. Freshman Tommy Murr scored a season-high 12 points and Parker Hazen added 10.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Lipscomb (4-5) wasted little time in taking control of the afternoon tilt as Cary buried his first triple from the left corner to get the scoring started. Hazen then finished a steal with a layup and Ferguson knocked down a trey of his own for an 8-0 run out of the gate.

From there it was an all-out assault from long range by the Bisons. Jacob Hobbs, Luke Howard, Alex Jones and Murr each connected from deep over the next five possessions to build a 22-8 advantage just under eight minutes into the action.

A 21-4 run over the next seven minutes helped Lipscomb take a 50-27 lead into the break for the team's highest-scoring half of the season.

The second half saw 12 different Bisons play at least five minutes, with 10 scoring points.

Five minutes into the second half, Cary received an outlet pass off a rebound from Ahsan Asadullah and slammed it home on the other end. On the ensuing possession, Hazen poked the ball away from the Pioneers and Cary scooped it up and lobbed one to Ferguson for the lay-in to extend the lead.

Tanner Shulman's three ball midway through the period gave Lipscomb its largest lead of the night at that point, 72-39.

The Bisons cruised down the stretch as the final 10 points all came from newcomers, sending the team into the holidays on a two-game winning streak.
