The Bisons started the game on the front foot taking the first four shots of the game and creating quality chances in front of the Eastern Kentucky goal. It did not take long for the Bisons to capitalize on their early dominance as
Shelby Craft fired a shot from well outside the penalty area that trickled its way into the back of the net for an early lead.
As time progressed, the Colonels grew into the game and began to control more of the possession battle. After earning four-straight chances at goal, the Colonels finally broke through with a chance inside the box in the 34

Molly Grant put pressure on the Eastern Kentucky defense as she created chance after chance in front of the Eastern Kentucky net, the best of which came in the 60
th minute. The forward maneuvered around two defenders before cutting back on her left foot to fire a strike that was ultimately saved by the Colonels goalkeeper.
Momentum shifted back to Eastern Kentucky as the Colonels began to dominate the possession battle again. Once again, the hosts capitalized on their time with the ball as they earned a corner kick in the 67
th minute of play. An out-swinging ball found the head of Eastern Kentucky and was guided into the back of the net to give the Colonels the go-ahead goal they were searching for.
