
Bisons Down Alabama A&M In Hard Fought Battle

NASHVILLE – Lipscomb Men's Basketball returned home after the Christmas Break and won a hard-fought battle 66-63 against Alabama A&M in the Bisons' final non-conference tune-up.
With the win, Lipscomb improved to 7-8 on the season and 4-2 in Allen Arena.
Jacob Ognacevic nearly notched a double-double with a team-high 16 points and eight rebounds. His double-digit performance marks his fourth-straight and 11th of the season. Other double-digit scorers included KJ Johnson and Will Pruitt with 12 and 11 points, respectively.
In his first game back from injury, Lipscomb big, Ahsan Asadullah contributed seven points, three assists and pulled down a rebound.
The game was hard-fought from the opening whistle with nine ties and 11 lead changes. Though the game was always closely contested, Lipscomb held the lead for the better part of 28 minutes of the game while the Bulldogs had the lead for just over six minutes. Lipscomb was outscored 36-24 in the paint, but the three-ball once again carried the Bisons as they drained seven to Alabama A&M's two.

- Alabama A&M scored the first bucked of the game for an early lead, but Pruitt scored five quick points to put Lipscomb ahead 5-2.
- The squads traded punched for a 10-10 tie with 14:00 left in the first half.
- Asadullah capitalized on a Bulldogs turnover and drained a triple to spur a Lipscomb 11-0 run to jump out to a 21-12 lead with just under 10 minutes to go in the half.
- The Bulldogs got right back in the game with a 6-0 run of their own, pulling back within a possession.
- After the under-eight media timeout, The Bisons opened up a double-digit (30-20) lead with a 7-0 run, capped off by an Ognacevic three-pointer with just under four minutes left.
- The Bulldogs outscored Lipscomb 9-2 over the final minutes, closing the gap and giving Lipscomb a three-point lead at the halftime break.
- Lipscomb shot 44% from the field in the first 10-minutes and 37% from range. Pruitt led all scorers with eight.
- The Bisons were plagued with eight turnovers in the first half while the Bulldogs only coughed up four.
- Alabama A&M shot 43% from the field and made just one three-pointer in the first frame.

SECOND HALF: Lipscomb 34, Alabama A&M: 34
- The squads traded baskets for the first five minutes of the second half before the Bulldogs took advantage of a four-minute, 11-0 run for its first lead (43-40) since the 12:52 mark of the first half.
- Asadullah stopped the bleeding with a second-chance layup at the 11:25 mark. Tommy Murr contributed a layup on the next possession to retake a 44-43 lead.
- Once again tied with under seven minutes to play, Quincy Clark poured in five points to lead the Bisons back to a seven-point advantage.
- After the final media timeout, the Bulldogs dug in and once-again clawed back and had a one-point advantage with 1:24 left in the game.
- The Bisons turned up the defensive heat over the final 90-seconds and Johnson and Clark made clutch free-throws down the stretch for a 66-63 lead with 17 second left in the matchup.
- Alabama A&M had the final possession, putting up back-to-back triples, but Clark blocked the first and the final attempt clanged off the rim to seal the 66-63 Lipscomb victory.

GAME NOTES
- The Bisons outshot the Bulldogs 42%-38% from the floor.
- Lipscomb was clutch from the charity stripe, making 13-of-16 free throws in the second half.
- Three Lipscomb players finished with double-digits while Clark and Asadullah also contributed seven each.
- Nine Bisons found the net on the night with 20 points coming from the bench.
