Baseball's Josh Lee: Where Are They Now?

Josh Lee is a former Lipscomb baseball player, playing his junior and senior seasons with the Bisons. He started his career at Vanderbilt and transferred to Central Arizona Community College before returning to the Music City. He served as a volunteer coach at Lipscomb before moving to Greater Atlanta Christian School where he coaches baseball and football and works with students in grades 6-through-9 who have learning disabilities. He and his wife, Miranda, a former Belmont cheerleader, are parents of a three-month-old daughter, Anna Kathryn.
What years did you compete for Lipscomb, and who coached you?
I played from 2014-2015. I was coached by Jeff Forehand, Paul Phillips, Brad Coon, James Ogden, and Brian Ryman.
What teammates were most memorable during your time as a Bison?
I had the unique opportunity to play with my two younger brothers (Adam '15, and Ben '17). It was special to be able to walk into the clubhouse each day and see my brothers. Looking back at it now, it is fun to reflect on our time at Lipscomb together and know that I share some of my fondest memories as a player with my brothers.
What degrees have you earned?
BS in Psychology - Lipscomb University
MEd. in Educational Counseling- University of Missouri
EdS. in Special Education- University of Georgia
Why did you attend Lipscomb?
I chose Lipscomb because I knew the school was going to develop me mentally, athletically, and spiritually. Lipscomb is filled with people who care about their students and I knew I was going to be surrounded by leaders and mentors who cared about me.
What is your favorite athletic memory at Lipscomb?
My favorite athletic memory at Lipscomb was our 2015 Atlantic Sun Championship. We had a special group of guys that were not only great players but great teammates that I am still friends with today.
Another one of my favorite memories was our team's mission trip to the Dominican Republic. This trip opened my eyes to mission work, and I have been fortunate to have since been on three more trips to the DR and two trips to Puerto Rico.
Who influenced your athletic career at Lipscomb?
That is a tough question. We had an unbelievable coaching staff. I learned so many things from that staff that I use now as a teacher and coach.
In high school, I was fortunate to play for Brian Ryman during the summer. He helped instill my work ethic and taking care of others.
Coach Forehand was a model of servant leadership. Skip would not ask us to do anything he wouldn't do himself and always ended every text, phone call, handwritten note, and team meeting with, "Love ya." It was always genuine and I'm sure he still tells that to his team every day. I know he still does it because that was how he ended his congratulatory text to me the night my daughter was born. I hope my daughter has mentors like Rymo and Skip in her life.
Where did you grow up?
Franklin, Tennessee.
Where do you live, and what do you do now?
I live in Norcross, Georgia. I teach and coach (baseball and football) at Greater Atlanta Christian School. I am the 6-9th grade Academic Support teacher where I work with students with mild learning disabilities.

My wife, Miranda, is a nurse and graduated from Belmont in 2014. We have a 3-month-old daughter, Anna Kathryn.
