Grace Oetting has been named Assistant Coach of the Cross Country and Track and Field programs,
Nick Polk, Director of Cross Country and Track & Field, announced Wednesday. Oetting will focus on coaching distance runners in her new role as assistant coach.
Oetting was a member of the Bisons Track & Field and Cross Country teams from 2015-2021. She earned Second-Team All-Conference honors in the 5000m run at the 2020 ASUN Indoor Championships and was named to the 2020 ASUN All-Academic team. During the most recent 2021 season, Oetting placed second in the ASUN Indoor Track & Field Championships in the 5000m run and placed third in the 5000m run at the ASUN Outdoor Track & Field Championships.
"We are truly fortunate to be able to add Grace to our coaching staff. She has been a team leader for years and is the perfect fit for the position," said Polk. "Her faith, positivity, thoughtfulness and passion for Lipscomb will help take our program to the next level. We are excited to get to work building towards the future."
Oetting is a two-time graduate of Lipscomb University with a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science and a Master of Business Administration.
