Women's Soccer Releases 2021 Slate of Matches

NASHVILLE – Lipscomb Women's Soccer head coach Kevin O'Brien released the full schedule for the Bisons' upcoming 2021 Fall season on Wednesday.

After seeing their 2020 season moved to the spring of 2021 due to safety protocols, the Lady Bisons are slated to play 20 games this fall. Never a squad to shy away from a challenging schedule, they will take on four 2020 NCAA Tournament squads and three Power Five schools. Fans will have the opportunity to catch 12 of the 2021 games at home in the Lipscomb Soccer Complex.

The Lady Bisons will kick off the season in a big way with a home exhibition match against South Alabama. The Jaguars are coming off a year in which they won the Sun Belt Conference Tournament title and advanced to the second round of the 2020 NCAA Tournament after defeating Colorado in the first round. Shortly after, the Lady Bisons will travel just a few miles down Belmont Boulevard to face local foe Belmont on August 13 in its final exhibition tune up before the regular season.

Lipscomb will start its regular season at the Lipscomb Soccer Complex when it faces the SEC's Mississippi State on Aug. 19 and another OVC opponent in Austin Peay on Aug. 22.

The Squad will then head south face ACC opponent Miami (Aug. 29) and FIU (Aug. 29) before returning home for its longest homestand of the season.

Pepperdine will visit Lipscomb's home pitch on Sept. 2 to kick off the homestand followed by a match against SIU on Sept. 5. Reigning SEC Tournament champion and 2020 NCAA Tournament participant, Vanderbilt, will come to the Lipscomb Soccer Complex on Sep. 9 for a tilt against the Bisons. Lipscomb will round out its four home matches against ETSU Sept. 12.

Lipscomb will conclude its non-conference schedule on Sept. 17 when it visits 2020 SWAC Tournament Champions and 2020 NCAA Tournament participant, Alabama State.

ASUN play will begin with matches on the road against UNF (Sept. 23) and Jacksonville (Sept. 26). Other notable matches during the ASUN slate include a home match against Liberty, reigning ASUN Tournament champions, on Sept. 30.

The regular season will wrap up with three home matches, concluding by hosting ASUN newcomer, Central Arkansas, on October 23.
