HEAD COACH KEVIN O'BRIEN
"Wonderful win. Sundays are always really difficult, especially hot, sunny 1:00 kick-offs like today. The girls came in with the right mentality. We respect every team we play. Austin Peay has some great players, and we knew it would be a tough game."
"From start to finish I really thought we were the aggressor. To play that way in the heat is really difficult so the way we applied ourselves and rotated the squad was a real success. I am really proud of [the girls] and excited to start the season the way we have."
"There was a lot of emphasis on the first five minutes of the second half because that is where we conceded to Mississippi State…There wasn't any doubt in my mind that we probably wouldn't give up a goal because we talked about it a lot and I thought the girls responded and understood the implications of starting the half well"
"What you take away is that we really have a lot of depth and a lot of talent. We are still trying to figure it out…we have girls that came in today and did really well for themselves…they are going to have their opportunities to compete and get in games, so the hope is that within a few weeks from now we know what our top group is and how we rotate."
