NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Ignited by a stunning goal from Cami Rogers in the opening minutes, the Bisons battled through a physical game to secure a win over Liberty in the team's ASUN home opener in Nashville on Thursday night.

Lipscomb hit the ground running from the opening kick. After earning two corner kicks within two minutes of play, the Bisons earned a free kick ten yards outside the Liberty penalty area. Alivia Carapazza struck a ball with pace that fell to Allie Dunn in the area. Dunn skillfully flicked the ball on for Rogers to smash home and give the Bisons a one-goal advantage with 87 minutes left to be played.

The Bisons kept their foot on the gas throughout the game as they continued to create chances in the final third. By the end of the first 45 minutes, Lipscomb had outshot Liberty by a margin of 13-6, but were unable to add to the early lead.

The second half proved to be just as much a battle as the first. Over the course of the game, the teams combined for 21 total fouls as each team desperately searched for the second goal of the match.

Lipscomb's best chance at doubling its lead came when Shelby Craft collected a ball in the midfield and played Dunn into the box. With a right-footed strike, Dunn was just inches away from securing the win for Lipscomb.

Lipscomb's Back line proved stable as the team gave up just two shots on goal and helped goalkeeper CJ Graham to her sixth clean sheet of the season.
