NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Lipscomb's women's soccer team welcomed the North Florida Ospreys to the Lipscomb Soccer Complex on Thursday evening. After a rocket of a shot from Alivia Carapazza put the Bisons up 1-0 going into the break, a Kelli Beiler brace brought home the squad's sixth straight conference win.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
The Bisons got off to a hot start in the match with intense battles for the ball all over the pitch. The Purple and Gold had a shake up in their starting lineup as sophomore Kendall Wade took to the pitch for the first time this season as part of the starting back line.

Wade provided an aggressive presence for Lipscomb's defense throughout the match as she and Logan McFadden, and Shelby Craft were the only three members of Lipscomb's squad, aside from sophomore goalkeeper CJ Graham, to record a full 90 minutes on the field.

Once the match was under way, Lipscomb's offense hit the ground running as Kelli Beiler logged the first shot of the match just 49 seconds into play. Beiler was soon joined by Emanuela Schurch on the offense as the duo grabbed the first four shots of the match within seven minutes. Angela Steidl and Emily Patti each logged a shot, but it was Alivia Carapazza who found the nylon first.

The sophomore defender drove up from midfield and launched a rocket from outside the 18-yard box to put the Bisons in the lead just under 16 minutes into the action. The Ospreys responded with a trio of shots of their own, two of which were scooped up by Graham and the third of which sailed out high to the left.

Lipscomb's squad continued to defend their end of the pitch with vigor and held North Florida to a total of five shots in the first half. Junior Grace Oliver made a dangerous run with less than two minutes left in the half, but her shot eked outside the left goalpost and the score held at 1-0 going into the break.

Play resumed after the half with the intensity still dialed up from the first half. The Ospreys recorded the first shot of the second frame after a minute of play, but it missed the mark high left and under a minute later, Emanuela Schurch drew a penalty in North Florida's box. Beiler stepped up to the line and buried her third penalty goal of the season to extend the Bisons' lead to two goals.

Kale'a Perry got in on the action and put a shot on the bottom left of the goal that was picked up by the Ospreys' keeper. Perry and Beiler kept up the offensive pressure and Beiler found the goal again for her second of the night after Perry danced through North Florida's defenders to recover the ball in their end of the pitch.

With just under twenty minutes left to play, a wave of Lipscomb substitutes took the pitch and proceeded to step up to hold off the Ospreys. On the offensive end, Bailey Oetinger, Marcella Cash, Tori Wheeler, and Grace Oliver put pressure on the North Florida defense while Evee Reeder, Ashley Witucki, and Lydia Hindt stood strong between the Ospreys and Graham.

Reeder and Wheeler pushed through the North Florida defense in the last minutes of play to land a shot on goal each, but the score held 3-0 as the final seconds of play ran out.

QUICK FACTS:

This match marks Kelli Beiler's second consecutive brace after she scored two goals against Bellarmine on Sunday, Oct. 2.
Alivia Carapazza's goal stands as her second of the season and marks her first since her Aug. 21 goal against Tennessee Tech.
Perry notched her third assist of the season on Beiler's second goal, tying her for fifth in the conference in assists.
The Bisons outshot the Ospreys 19-6, including a second half in which Lipscomb's defense held North Florida to just one shot.
CJ Graham's three saves push her total save tally to 46, tying her for sixth in the conference while she now stands second in the conference for total wins with seven.

HEAD COACH KEVIN O'BRIEN:
"It was an outstanding performance tonight by our girls. I'm super proud of them. They put in a good week of training.

We unfortunately had another big injury. This season is unlike any other year. I mean, we've had seven major injuries, yet the team shows up. The next player shows up and they put in performance after performance. It was amazing.

Kendall Wade, I've got to say something first – you know, she hadn't played a game, hasn't played a minute all year but she stepped in and played 90 minutes. She absolutely was a monster out there and that's what's amazing about this team and about coaching this group. They're so deep and they're so talented that I can essentially, as a coach, pick whoever I want and know that they're going to go out there, put in a great performance, and leave it on the field.

I couldn't be any more proud of this group. I'm thankful that we got the result. We scored some good goals. I thought we were the aggressor from start to finish and we have to continue to be that way. The games don't get easier, that's for sure, and ultimately, we want to be peaking with the squad we've got come the end of the season. So, I'm really proud of them and we're excited to recover and get ready for really talented Jacksonville team."
