THE SHORT STORY
Lipscomb got off to a hot start against Wilberforce and cruised to a 27-point win in their home-opener.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Bisons jumped on the Bulldogs in the first quarter, quickly holding an 8-0 advantage with 7:32 remaining in the first quarter to force a Wilberforce time out.
Their defensive effort allowed for some open looks during their early run, as
Jalyn Holcomb buried two early triples.
After Holcomb's three-pointer, the squad would stretch their lead to 12-0 before the Bulldogs could put the ball in the basket on their end.
Both teams would trade basket after the Bisons early run to end the quarter as the squad led 20-10 after one quarter of action.
The Bisons would outscore the Bulldogs 23-14 in the second quarter to take a 43-24 lead going into halftime.
Lipscomb would stretch it's lead to as much as 30 in the third quarter, as they recorded their highest point total in a quarter during that stretch with 24.
Coach Sumski's bunch continued to keep their foot on the gas in the fourth quarter, particularly on the defensive end as they ended the contest holding the Bulldogs to a 33.3% clip from the floor at the end of the contest.
Lipscomb claimed their first win of the season with an 81-54 performance at Allen Arena.
