Women’s Tennis Balks Against ETSU Buccaneers

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. – Lipscomb women's tennis headed east to face the ETSU Buccaneers Tuesday afternoon. The Bisons left the exchange with a 0-4 loss from the Buccaneers.
 
The match began with the Buccaneers taking the doubles point with wins on courts one and three.
 
Kate Popova and Anja Trbeznik partnered on court one, falling 2-6 to their opponents. Liza Diachenko and Perri Howard represented the Bisons at the No. 3 position, putting up a fight but ultimately falling 3-6.
 
The Bisons struggled in singles play, with the three points the Buccaneers earned to claim the clinch format victory coming from courts one, four, and five.
 
Court five finished first where Diachenko fell 1-6, 2-6 to her opponent in a two-set match. The next point the Bisons dropped originated at the No. 4 position. Junior Anja Trbeznik fought hard but lost in two sets to her Buccaneer adversary (2-6, 1-6).
 
The final point of the match was decided on court one where sophomore Sasha Dobranos was foiled in two sets by ETSU's #118 Laylo Bakhodirova (1-6, 3-6).

The Bisons head to Macon, Ga. to face the Mercer Bears on Saturday, March 12. First serve will be at 1:00pm CST.
