Stout one stroke off lead after 36 holes at ASUN Championship

VALDOSTA, Ga. – The Lipscomb women's golf team concluded day two of the ASUN Championship and will find itself in fourth overall when the final round begins on Tuesday at Kinderlou Forest Golf Club in Valdosta, Georgia.

The Bisons, like most of the field, had a little trouble in the second round, shooting 304 as a team. It gave them a 598 two-day total (+22) and put them nine strokes behind Eastern Kentucky (+13) for third. No. 48 North Florida is still on top of the field at +1 (577) while Kennesaw State sits second at +5 (581).

Graduate student Siarra Stout led the Bisons again with a one-under 71 and sits second overall at -3, just one stroke off the leader. The Franklin native recorded three birdies on the day and entered hole No. 17 at three under on the day, but a double bogey-par finish wrapped up her afternoon at one under par.

Lauren Thompson had an up-and-down day for the purple and gold, finishing with a three-over 75 to remain in a tie for 11th. The ASUN Freshman of the Year bogeyed three of her first four holes, but fought back and went three under on the next 10 to get back to even. Thompson double-bogeyed 16 and bogeyed 18 to close her round.

Mary Kate Smith, Ally Williams and Kaylee Wu all shot 79 (+7) on day two to wrap up the Bisons scoring.

Smith is tied for 31st, while Williams is just behind at 34th and Wu is tied for 42nd.
