
Holan finishes 5th, Bisons 4th at ASUN Men's Golf Championship

ATHENS, Ga. – The Lipscomb men's golf concluded play in the ASUN Championship on Tuesday with a final round 294, giving them a three-day total of 867 (+15) and earning them a 4th-place finish in the championship.
No. 39 North Florida took home the league's automatic berth with a weekly score of -4, 848. FGCU finished second, 11 strokes behind the Ospreys, at +7 (859) and the No. 36 Liberty Flames rounded out the top-three at +9 (861).
Will Holan earned an all-tournament selection with a 5th-place finish after firing rounds of 70-68-73 for a 211 total. He started the day off hot with birdies on two the first three holes before running into some trouble with a double-bogey on four.
Jason Hong finished the event tied for 14th behind a final round 74 to give him a 218 for the week.
Austin Aliff posted his best round of the week and the Bisons best round of the day with an even-par 71. He caught fire on the front nine with three birdies in a five-hole stretch before shooing one-over on the back. He tied for 20th overall.
Ford Goldasich was unable to record a red number on the final day, posting a 78 to give him a 26th-place finish with a 223.
All-Freshman selection Alejandro Rodriguez posted a 39th-place finish with a 228 after carding a 76 in the final round.
UNF's Nick Gabrelcik took home the individual medalist after torching the field with a -8, 205 total. He won the honors by four strokes.
"We really don't like the season ending, but the men gave a tremendous effort and Coach E and I are very proud of their work ethic and desires to compete on the highest level," Director of Golf Will Brewer said. "W are really proud of Will Holan and how he has performed these past two events and earning all-tournament at the ASUN is fantastic.
"Jason had an off week with the putter and still managed to place around the the top 12 players in the field. Austin Aliff played well today. It was a team effort. We grew a lot this week and we are very excited about the coming season!"

CHAMPIONSHIP NOTES
- Lipscomb finished as the best team on par 3's all week, finishing with a 3.08 average (+5). That was five strokes better than any other team.
- The Bisons carded 167 pars in the championship, the second-most in the field. EKU had 172.
- The Bisons finished with 37 birdies. Liberty led the field with 54.
- Lipscomb had three of the top five players in the field on par-3 scoring. Holan and Hong each finished one-under (2.92), while Aliff was even.
- Holan led the team with a 4.00 average on par 4's.
- Aliff and Hong tied for fourth overall with 37 pars.
- Holan tied for third in the field with 13 birdies.
- The top-5 finish was the highest of the season for Holan, and his second top-10 of the year.
