CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. – The Lipscomb women's golf program finished with the 13
th-highest team GPA across Division I for the 2021-22 academic year, announced Wednesday by the Women's Golf Coaches Association.
The Bisons posted a 3.825 team GPA this past year and recently had five girls honors by the WGCA earlier this month for their work in the classroom.
"We received five All-American Scholars earlier this month, so to now learn we had the 13
th-highest GPA in the country among roughly 270 teams is so incredible," head coach
Jesse Lawley said. "I am so proud of our girls as this award highlights every single person on our roster who has grinded in the classroom.
"I can't stress how happy I am for our team. This is the epitome of a student-athlete because they have taken care of their coursework despite the amount of hours we spend on the golf course and on the road traveling. It is such an accomplishment on their end, as it represents our roster from top to bottom and is not just an individual honor. It's a huge testament to the growth of our team and I could not be more proud of my girls."
Lipscomb finished just behind Old Dominion (3.826), Texas A&M Corpus Christi (3.835) and California State (3.837).
