The Bisons started the game on the front foot and commanded possession early. It was just 2:23 into the match when the Govs were whistled for a foul in the box. Junior Kelli Belier made them pay as she buried one past the keeper to give Lipscomb a 1-0 advantage.
Just a few minutes later, the purple and gold doubled its lead when Shelby Craft found the net from inside the goal box.

Lipscomb had other chances in the second half, but was unable to cash them in, but they held on for the win to open conference play.
