THE SHORT STORY
Lipscomb Men's Basketball soared to an 87-65 ASUN victory on the road Thursday night at Austin Peay behind a team-high 22 points from Jacob Oganacevic.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Austin Peay took the lead with a triple on its first possession, but the Bisons bounced back and took a 4-3 lead after a Trae Benham triple and a free throw.

Neither team could get much of a flow going during the early minutes as the game was tied at 6 a piece at the first media timeout.

Out of the timeout, Lipscomb went on a quick 8-0 run with three buckets from Jacob Ognacevic and a beautiful backdoor cut from AJ McGinnis for a 14-6 lead and an Austin Peay timeout at the 12:52 mark.

Ognacevic continued to heat up and quickly eclipsed the double-digit mark less than 10-minutes into the game as the Bisons extended its lead 17-8 at the 11:30 mark.

Lipscomb was firing on all cylinders and used another 8-0 run to jump out to a 25-10 lead with 8:20 left in the first.

At the under-eight media timeout, the Bisons had held Austin Peay scoreless for the last 3:10 while Lipscomb continued to shoot at a 73-percent clip.

The Govs broke the scoreless streak with a big triple, but Will Pruitt converted on the other end with a second-chance floater to keep the momentum in Lipscomb's favor. The Bisons continued to play well on both ends of the floor and held a 35-19 lead at the final media timeout of the first half.

Austin Peay picked up the full court press out of the timeout to try and get the Bisons out of rhythm, but the Lipscomb offense was up to the task.

The Govs picked up the pace over the final two minutes of play and shaved the Lipscomb lead back down to 12, but the Bisons carried a 41-29 lead into the halftime break.

Ahsan Asadullah was hot out of the halftime break, with the opening three buckets of the for the Bisons.

Lipscomb continued to handle the press well and opened up its largest lead at 55-37 with 13:04 left in the second half.

The Bisons continued to increase its lead with the help of an extended 15-2 run over 5:26 as it saw a 61-37 lead at the under-12 media timeout.

Lipscomb continued to pour it on as it extended the run 21-4 to take a 72-41 lead with 8:13 left in regulation.

The Bisons were able to close out a clinical 87-65 victory on the road to improve to 2-3 in ASUN play.
