HARDIN, Ky.- Lipscomb women's tennis team took on the Murray State Racers Friday afternoon in their first road match of the season. The Bisons fell 5-2 to the Racers with their pair of points earned with a set of singles wins from Sasha Dobranos and Alina Cherniaieva.
The Racers set a quick pace for the match from the first serve. The Bisons faltered in doubles play as Sofiia Paladi and Alina Cherniaieva fell 6-2 on court two while Perri Howard and Liza Diachenko fell 7-5 on court three.
Sasha Dobranos and Anja Trbeznik partnered together at the top spot and their match was called at 5-5 as the Racers secured the first point of the match.
Dobranos led the Bisons in singles play on court one as she earned her fifth consecutive straight-set singles win of the season in her 6-2, 7-5 victory.
Freshman Alina Cherniaieva claimed a three-set triumph on court five to move the Bisons to their 5-2 final score (6-2, 5-7, 10-6).
Her fellow freshman Sofiia Paladi also took her opponent to three sets before the Racers ultimately took the point on court two from the 4-6, 6-3, 6-2 match.

The Bisons will return to Nashville Friday, February 3 to face off with the ETSU Buccaneers at 6:00 p.m. CST.
