Bisons Bring Home Three ASUN XC Weekly Awards After Big Weekend in Chicago

ATLANTA, Ga. – Lipscomb cross country earned recognition from the ASUN league office Wednesday afternoon with three of the four ASUN cross country weekly awards going to members of the Purple and Gold. Lydia Miller earned the nod for WXC Runner of the Week while Harley Kletz and Daniel Winkelman brough home their respective ASUN Freshman of the Week honors.
Lydia Miller earned her fourth career ASUN weekly award and her third ASUN Runner of the Week title following a big weekend in the Windy City. Miller opened her 2023 campaign at the Loyola Lakefront Invitational with a fifth-place finish out of 139 runners.
Miller clocked a time of 19:59.79 to lead the Bisons across the line and claim a team fourth-place finish ahead of programs such as Gonzaga, Ohio State, Michigan, Northwestern, Ohio, Indiana, and Kentucky with their 117 total points.
Harley Kletz earned her first ASUN recognition following her collegiate debut for the Bisons in Chicago. Kletz recorded a time of 20:29.21 in the women's 6k. Her time made her the third Bison across the line, the first freshman from the squad to the finish, and earned her 28th place overall out of 139 runners.
Daniel Winkelman represented the Lipscomb men's cross country team in the ASUN weekly awards following his own collegiate debut performance at the Loyola Lakefront Invitational. He put up a time of 24:52.58 in the 8k and finished 74th out of 138 runners. His time helped push the Bisons towards their eighth-place team finish ahead of teams from Illinois State, Indiana, Kentucky, Ohio State, Saint Louis and Ohio.
