Women’s Soccer Releases 2023 Spring Schedule

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Lipscomb women's soccer head coach Kevin O'Brien announced Friday the squad's lineup for the 2023 spring season. The squad has been back at work since welcoming returners back to campus after break and introducing their new members to the squad.

"Due to several injuries, we've been training between 13-16 players and therefore do not have the ability to play 11 aside during practice," coach O'Brien continued. "Having these games will allow us to roll out some tactical changes and make a tweak or two to our system of play."

The Bisons will begin with a match against local foe Belmont on March 1st at the Bruins' home field. The squad will then travel to take on the Samford Bulldogs at the University of Alabama Huntsville on March 22nd before returning home to face off with the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers on March 29th.

The Purple and Gold will then welcome Vanderbilt to the Lipscomb Soccer Complex on April 6th for their first matchup since the Bisons broke the Commodores' perfect streak of scoreless matches for their opponents last season. Lipscomb's spring season will conclude with a final matchup against the Chattanooga Mocs in Chattanooga on April 14th.

"It's awesome to be training again," said O'Brien. "Thankfully, the team came back fit and ready to play, so we can focus more on learning than getting them in shape. It'll be nice to face some outside competition so we can try some new things."

"It's been beautiful to see how our five new players have been welcomed by the returning squad," O'Brien said. "Both the maturity and hospitality of our upperclassmen has been on full display and it's been really special to witness."

"As far as our transfers go, they are each doing great! Each girl brings something special to the team and it'll be fun to get to see them in five competitive matches whilst wearing the Purple and Gold," O'Brien finished.
