
Women's Golf Rounds Out Rivertowne Invitational

CHARLESTON, S.C. – Lipscomb Women's Golf finished eighth in a field of 19 teams at the Rivertowne Invitational that concluded on Tuesday.
The Bisons finished ahead of fellow ASUN competitors North Alabama and Jacksonville who finished in ninth and 12th, respectively.
The Bisons turned in a 302 in the first round before greatly improving with a 286 in the second round. Tuesday, the squad shot a 306 for a total of 894 (+30),
Mary Kate Smith led the way for the Bisons. She finished (+1) on the tournament, tied for fifth place. She carded a 73-68-74 in the three rounds. Smith led the field in Par 5 scoring finishing (-5) and turned in eight birdies and 23 pars.
Lauren Thompson had another strong showing, finishing tied for 26th in the field. She turned in a 76-67-79 to finish (+6) on the event. Thompson finished second in Par 3 scoring (-1) and had 22 Pars and eight birdies.
Siarra Stout and Mia Seeman finished tied for 59. Stout carded a 79-75-76 while Seeman shot a 77-76-77 as both finished (+14).
Ally Williams rounded out things for the Bisons with a 76-78-80 (+18), finishing tied for 71st.
As a squad, the Bisons led the field in Par 5 scoring, shooting (-8) on the event, and carded 27 birdies and 109 pars.

The Bisons will be back on the course at Samford Intercollegiate on March 6-7.
