
Women’s Tennis Claims Tenth Straight Victory Over Belmont

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Lipscomb women's tennis welcomed familiar foe Belmont to the Huston-Marsh-Griffith Tennis Center on Friday for their outdoor home opener. The Bisons struck a quick pace from the get-go and cemented their tenth straight win over the Bruins in a 4-0 sweep.
Beginning in doubles play, the freshman duo of Sofiia Paladi and Alina Cherniaieva opened the scoring in the Bisons' favor with a 6-0 sweep of their opponents on court two.
The squad felt their momentum and the Bisons claimed the doubles point shortly after with a 6-2 win at the top spot for Sasha Dobranos and Anja Trbeznik over Belmont's #72 ranked doubles team of Mariia Hlahola and Anastasiya Zholdakova.
Lipscomb's players carried this fire with them into singles play, delivering three impressive wins on courts one, two, and four.
Dobranos extended her winning streak with a 6-2, 6-2 win at the top spot, putting her at a 9-2 singles record so far this season.
Liza Diachenko claimed the third point of the match for the Bisons. Her scores of 6-3, 6-3 moved Lipscomb into clinching position and pushed Diachenko up to a 5-6 singles record for the season.
Freshman Sofiia Paladi delivered the clinching point for the Bisons with a decisive 6-2, 6-2 win on court two to cement Lipscomb's victory.
The squad's win today marks head coach Jamie Aid's tenth straight victory over Belmont. Since taking over as the head coach of the women's tennis program prior to the 2013-14 season, coach Aid is undefeated against the Bruins.
