HOW IT HAPPENED

Lipscomb Baseball's regular Sunday starter Braydon Tucker got the nod for game two of the series against Jacksonville and shut down the Dolphin's hitters, finishing with eight strikeouts in six innings of work. Improved hitting in game two helped the Bisons claim their sixth victory of the season.

The Bisons snapped their 11-game losing streak with a win at home to tie the conference-opening series with the Dolphins at a game apiece, forcing a winner-take-all game three on Sunday.

Tucker had an impactful start to Saturday's contest with three strikeouts against his first three batters. The inning started what proved to be a solid day for the righty, as he controlled Dolphin's explosive order on a windy day in Nashville.

Jacksonville scored the contest's first run on a double to left field, but the Bisons answered with three runs in their next at-bats. Will Lee brought in Jake Berg from third on a sacrifice fly to right field. Then Parks Bouck homered for the first time this season, plating Kelly to give the Bisons a 3-1 advantage.

Lipscomb added to their edge with another three-run inning in the third. The Bisons strung together three hits in the frame coming from Alex Vergara, Kelly, and Lee helping them increase their lead to five runs (6-1).

Four more runs came in the fifth, adding four more hits to Lipscomb's total, as the Bisons eclipsed the double-digit run mark for the second time this season.

Jacksonville did not go away quietly, scoring the contest's final four runs, but it was not enough as Lipscomb got back in the win column with a 10-5 decision at Ken Dugan Field.
