Men’s Tennis Comes Up Short Against Stetson

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Lipscomb men's tennis took on the Stetson Hatters Thursday afternoon in an exciting ASUN matchup. The Bisons made a strong surge in singles play to challenge the Hatters, but fell just short of clinching in a 3-4 loss to their Florida foes.

The match seemed a toss-up in doubles play with the Hatters taking an early lead on court three with their 6-1 win over Alex Mesquida and Vikash Singh. Maksim Bogdanovich and Luka Stojanovic pushed back against their opponents at the top spot, but their match was left unfinished at 4-3 to the Bisons when Jake Penny and Carlos Salas Tulla were defeated 6-3 on court two.

Stetson's squad extended their lead to 2-0 in the match with a 6-3, 6-3 win on court five over Salas Tulla, but Vikash Singh put the Bisons on the board shortly after with his 6-2, 7-6 (7-4) win at the No. 4 spot.

The Hatters moved ahead 3-1 after a 6-0, 3-6, 6-3 win on court three over Penny and clinched the match 4-1 shortly after following an arduous 6-3, 3-6, 6-3 battle that was well-fought by Henrique Ushizima.

Luka Stojanovic fought back for the Bisons on court six, claiming a 1-6, 6-4, 6-3 win over his Stetson adversary on court six. Maksim Bogdanovich brought home the final point of the match for the Bisons, going 6-3, 3-6, 7-5 over his opponent at the top spot to end the match 4-3 for Stetson.
