God has shaped me through basketball by allowing me to meet amazing people while using the gift He's given me. The Lord has continued to open doors for me using the game of basketball. Doors led me to pursue my degree, meet my absolute best friends, and be a disciple of Christ.
God has truly been a teacher in my life and especially through the lens of basketball. I've learned the power of community, the importance of a servant's heart, and how to use this game to work towards building His kingdom.
I've learned the importance of always giving glory to Him. He has given us the ability to demonstrate how great our God is. Basketball is a tool I use daily to be a living example of how God works our lives. God has revealed to me through basketball just how great He is.
In so many ways I'm not deserving of the opportunities that He constantly has given me through this sport I love so much. Opportunities to play out my dream, travel the world, and gain such a powerful community.
The biggest lesson I've learned through basketball is that I am greater than my sport. No awards, no accolades, and no worldly achievements dictate who I am as a person and believer in Christ. I am more than my sport. I am a believer and follower of our savior Jesus Christ.
