THE SHORT STORY
Senior Kamrie Rich went 3 for 4 from the plate with a career-high three doubles, including the game-winning RBI double in the top of the seventh, to lead the Bisons to a 2-1 road win in the series finale against Kennesaw State.

HOW IT HAPPENED
After a scoreless first two innings of play, Lipscomb broke the deadlock in the top of the third as Briyana Wright drew a lead-off walk and advanced to third on a single by Kaylyn Belfield. Presley Leebrick hit an RBI groundout in the next at-bat to score Wright and give the Bisons the early 1-0 lead.

The Owls responded in the bottom of the fifth inning with a run on one hit to even the score after five innings of play.

Belfield drew a walk to lead off the top of the seventh inning and advanced to second on a sacrifice bunt by Leebrick to set up Rich with a runner in scoring position. Rich took the fourth pitch she saw deep down the right-field line for her third double of the game to score Belfield and give Lipscomb the 2-1 lead.

Kennesaw State threatened with a two-out single to put the tying run on base, but a great throw by Rich to throw out the runner trying to steal second base clinched the third and final out for the Bisons.

Laine Barefoot did not allow an earned run on seven hits to clinch her second win of the season for the Bisons.

The Owls' Melanie Bennett was credited with the loss in the circle, allowing one earned run on three hits in 3.0 innings of relief, while Kenley Hilleary gave up one earned run on three hits in the first 4.0 innings of the game.

Rich went 3 for 4 from the plate with a career-high three doubles and an RBI to pace the Bisons in the win, while Belfield and Josey Polk combined to go 3 for 6 from the dish.

UP NEXT
The Bisons will return to Draper Diamond on Saturday, April 29 as they open a three-game home series against Eastern Kentucky. First pitch of the opening game is slated for 2:00 p.m. CT.
