Women’s Tennis Earns 4-0 Road Sweep Over North Alabama

FLORENCE, Ala. – Lipscomb women's tennis earned a 4-0 sweep over ASUN foe North Alabama on Wednesday morning. The squad claimed the doubles points with big wins on courts one and three and singles wins from the Bisons' three freshmen.
 
In doubles play, Sasha Dobranos and Anja Trbeznik claimed a 6-0 sweep over their Lions opponents in just 17 minutes, closely followed by Perri Howard and Liza Diachenko's 6-3 win on court three to seal the opening point in the Bisons' favor.
 
Lipscomb's squad carried this energy through into singles play, illustrated by Alina Cherniaieva's 6-1, 6-0 win on court five in just over an hour. Sofiia Paladi claimed the Bisons' third point of the match with her 6-4, 6-2 win on court two, putting the Bisons in a clinching position early in the matchup.
 
Taisia Yakunina sealed the deal for the Purple and Gold, earning her 6-2, 6-4 win on court six to secure the Bisons' ninth win of the season. With the squad's ninth win, head coach Jamie Aid is now just one win away from her 100th career win.
