Lauren Thompson Leads The Way for Lipscomb at NCAA Westfield Regional

WESTFIELD, Ind. – Lipscomb Women's Golf sits in 12^th place after the first two rounds of the NCAA Westfield Regional. The squad shot a combined 299 in the first round and 301 in the second round for a total of 600 (+24).

Lauren Thompson leads the way for the Bisons, as she is (-1) after the first two rounds after carding a 71 in each of the two days. Overall, Thompson is sitting tied for 13^th place and is in the hunt for an individual berth to the NCAA Championship. The top individual golfer, not on a qualifying team, will advance from the Westfield regional to the NCAA Championship.

Mary Kate Smith was sitting tied for 13^th place after the first day with a 71, but fell several positions on day two with a 78. She currently sits with an overall score of 149 (+5).

Ally Williams and Tzunami Polito are both tied for 61^st place in the field. Williams finished with a 77 and 78 in the second and third rounds, respectively. Polito turned in an 81 in the first round, but improved greatly in her second 18-holes of the competition with a 74. Each of the athletes will head into the final round at (+11).

Rounding things out for the Bisons is Mia Seeman who is (+15) on the tournament with an 80 and 79 in the first two rounds.

The Bisons will hit the course for the third and final round on Wednesday, May 10 at The Club at Chatham Hills. Wednesday's round starts at 7:00 p.m. CT. Live Scoring can be found on GolfStat.
