Bisons Fall 3-1 to Crimson Tide

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Lipscomb women's soccer team welcomed the No. 7 Alabama Crimson Tide to Nashville Thursday night for an early evening showdown. The Crimson Tide took home a 3-1 win agter Kiara Pralle's goal stood on its own for Lipscomb through the final 24 minutes of play.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED: Both squads hit the ground running three shots in the first ten minutes. Kelli Beiler logged a shot that skimmed inches above the top of the crossbar.
 
Faith Adams continued to hold the pressure up for the Bisons as she and Beiler each tallied shots on target in the next seven minutes to force saves from Bama's netminder. After a strong push from Kiara Pralle to the lower right corner of the goal, Alabama brought the action back into Lipscomb's defensive end and the visitors opened the scoring with a high shot to the center of the goal.
 
Marcella Cash logged the Bisons' final shot of the half and the 1-0 score stood through the 45' horn.

The Crimson Tide came out rolling in the second half with three shots in the first five minutes of play, the third of which found it's mark to put Alabama up 2-0.
 
Nine minutes later Bama found the back of the net once more to go up 3-0 just after the 59-minute mark. The Bisons brought the heat back to Alabama's end of the pitch with three shots in five minutes.
 
Kiara Pralle put the Bisons on the board for the first time this season as she buried a setup from KK Pavatt and Lydia Hindt in the 66th minute of action. Despite strong chances from the Bisons for the following 30 minutes, the score held through the end of the match.

   
QUICK FACTS:
  • The Bisons drove the offensive game this evening with 20 shots to Bama's 12 but the visitors ran the accuracy game with eight shots on goal to Lipscomb's seven.
  • Lipscomb's sophomore goalkeeper Sara Kile spent a full 90-minutes in the pipe tonight with five total saves, including a second half where she posted four saves on nine shots.
  • The Bisons dominated in the offensive end, claiming ten corner kicks to the Crimson Tide's seven.
  • Kiara Pralle led Lipscomb's offense tonight with four shots, closely followed by Shelby Craft, Kelli Beiler, and KK Pavatt with three shots apiece.
  • Pralle's goal marks her first as a Bison and her career second.
  • Shelby Craft and Logan McFadden were two of just four players to log a full 90-minutes on the pitch.
