LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Lipscomb women's soccer took a trip north to battle with their second ASUN foe of the season. The Bisons brought home a 2-0 win over the Bellarmine Knights after Lucy Ream and Kelli Beiler combined for a pair of goals in the first five minutes of the match.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Purple and Gold popped off with a hot start from the beginning of the match, as Lucy Ream buried the first shot of the match on a setup from Kiara Pralle.

Pralle paced her Bellarmine defender up the left side of the pitch and Ream finished her centering pass with a left-footed shot that escaped the Bellarmine netminder and put Lipscomb on the board just under two minutes into play.

The Bisons jumped right back on the attack with Kelli Beiler putting a shot on the books in the third minute of play that went right of the goal. R

eam put her notable speed to good use just a few moments later and flew up the left side of the field before putting a pass to the center of the box for Beiler, who netted her eighth goal of the season just over four minutes into the action to put the squad up 2-0.

Lipscomb's squad continued to dominate the offensive game as the Bisons put up five more shots in the first half compared to the Knight's three.

Bellarmine put up their first shot of the match just shy of 13 minutes into action that the Bisons answered with a pair of shots from Bella Carapazza and Beiler that were denied by the Knights' defense.

Ream recorded another shot that flew wide while Pralle put two shots on goal that were turned away by Bellarmine's keeper and the score held at 2-0 going into the break. Pralle jumped right back into the fray and took a shot four minutes back into action that went right of the goal.

The Bisons continued to put the heat on the Knights with shots from players all over the field – Alivia Carapazza, Emanuela Schurch, Lucy Hurst, and Marcella Cash all put shots on the books within 15 minutes of each other.

Cash made another attempt on goal just before the 79th minute that bounced off the right post as the score held at 2-0. After pushing up the left side of the field, she sent a shot across the box to the far corner of the goal and it ricocheted out.

Hurst made another attempt at scoring as well just four minutes later after driving up the right side of the field. The Melissa, Texas native danced around a pair of Bellarmine defenders and sent her shot across the six-yard box that was snatched out of play by the Knights' keeper and the score held through the remaining eight minutes of action.

The Bisons' defense put up an impressive second half, preventing the Knights from logging a single shot across the final 45 minutes of action and holding play steadily in the Bellarmine end of the pitch as the clock wound down and marked Lipscomb's second ASUN victory of the season.
