NASHVILLE – Lipscomb Women's Golf's Lauren Thompson has been named an ASUN Golfer of the Week, the league announced Thursday. Thompson had another successful week as the Individual Champion at the Johnie Imes Invitational hosted by Missouri to lead the Bisons to the Team Championship. 
 
Thompson led the Bisons throughout the tournament and sat towards the top of the leaderboard throughout the three rounds. On the first day of the competition, Thompson shot a solid 68 and sat in second place. Staying in control of her game, she carded a 71 in the second round and sat tied at second, three strokes off the lead heading into the final round of play. While others at the top struggled on day three, Thompson stayed composed and put up a 70 to pull ahead for a two-stroke win over the competition. Thompson led the field in par 3 scoring (2.67) and was second in par 4 scoring (3.93). All told, she carded 35 pars and 13 birdies en route to the victory. 

The Bisons will be back in action Oct. 16-17 at the Edisto Island Invitational hosted by the University of Charleston.
