NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Lipscomb women's soccer added their fifth straight conference victory to the win column Thursday night as they collected a 4-0 win over the North Alabama Lions. The Bisons recorded a pair of goals in each half of the match, one each from Bella Carapazza, Marcella Cash, Lucy Ream, and Kiara Pralle.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Thursday night's matchup between two teams with big strength in the midfield got off to a lively start as both teams showcased their skill at both creating and interrupting chances as play held in central third of the field for opening three minutes.

Kelli Beiler opened the Bisons' offensive chances five minutes into play as she took a header under a free kick from Lucy Ream that was sent away by North Alabama's defense. The Lions brought the action back into Lipscomb's defensive end just under the 12-minute mark, but it failed to find its target and the 0-0 stalemate held.

Lipscomb's offensive lines started turning up the heat on the Lions as Emanuela Schurch finessed a leading ball in the corner to put a shot on goal that was collected and sent away by North Alabama's keeper. Beiler brought the action right back into the Lions' end of the field and launched a shot from the right side of the 18-yard box that went just outside the left post 16 minutes into play.

North Alabama fought back and made their way into the Bisons' defensive end a few times, but big plays from netminder Sara Kile and members of Lipscomb's defense stepping up like Logan McFadden, who demonstrated a well-timed poke tackle, combined to hold off the Lions' offense as the 30-minute threshold drew near.

The Bisons took control of the possession game once more and after Bella Carapazza was tripped in the box on a Lipscomb rush, the freshman buried her first goal of the season with a well-placed penalty kick to put the Bisons on the board seven seconds shy of the 30-second mark.

Just four minutes later, the Bisons were back at it and Marcella Cash crashed into the six-yard box to finish a centering pass from Kiara Pralle and extend the Bisons' lead to two with ten minutes left in the first half.

The Bisons continued to test the North Alabama defense with back-to-back shots on target from Pralle and Beiler that were denied by the Lions' keeper. UNA made their way down the field as the first half drew to a close and took long shots from 30-yards out that were scooped up by Kile and the Bisons entered the break with a 2-0 lead.

Lipscomb's squad leapt to put the pressure on early once play resumed with Alivia Carapazza and Pralle combined to send KK Pavatt into the 18-yard box in the first minute back in action, but her shot was turned away by UNA's keeper.

Their persistence paid off just five minutes after the break as Paige Archbold drove through the midfield and sent a ball over to Beiler, who battled her way on up the field to send a ball through the Lions' defense to Lucy Ream, who snuck it under the keeper's dive to net her third goal of the season and brought the Bisons to a 3-0 lead.

North Alabama attempted to answer the challenge with a trio of shots, the first of which came just under 30 seconds after Ream's goal, but the Bisons stood firm against the pressure.

Pralle's relentless presence up front for the Bisons paid off as the final 30 minutes of play began. After she was fouled 40 yards out from the Lions' goal, she fought through the North Alabama defenders to finish a free kick from Alivia Carapazza with a wicked shot that hit the crossbar and ricocheted down to the ground and into the goal for her fifth of the season just inside the 61st minute of action.

Both teams continued to test the Lions' defense while mercilessly shutting down North Alabama's attempts to get on the board. Craft and Archbold each sent dangerous chances towards UNA's goal including a free kick from Archbold that went screaming towards the bottom right corner of the net from 35 yards out that was picked up and turned away by the Lions' keeper.

The Bisons made a line change in the 68th minute and the new crew's strong defensive coordination from Archbold, Summer Ellmore, and Evee Reeder led Lipscomb to shut down North Alabama's offense with aplomb after just two shots in the 70th minute.

Reeder recorded one of the Bisons' two final offensive chances of the night just shy of the 83rd minute mark when she launched a shot from 30 yards out that flew dangerously towards the top right corner of the net, but the Lions' keeper stepped out to meet it and the Bisons' 4-0 lead held through the final whistle.
