HOW IT HAPPENED
Coming off Friday night's loss to Florida Gulf Coast, Lipscomb came out with a strong attack as Meg Mersman got the first kill on the first point of the evening.

From there, the Bisons got out to a 7-2 lead thanks to three straight Hatter attack errors. The visitors finally netted their first kill on the next point thanks to Jenna Simmons.

It would not phase the Bisons, though, as they went 9-for-9 in side out percentage and swelled the lead to 18-5 thanks to kills by Addi Pelham and a Mersman and Karlie McNabb block.

Winning the opening set 25-9, the home team put 15 kills to the Hatters' four, including holding the visitors to a -.069 swing percentage.

Despite more competitiveness in the second set, Lipscomb posted 21 kills in the second set to win 25-18. Courtney Jones led the way with seven, followed by Pelham's six and McNabb's four.

The first lead change of the match came in the third set, as the Hatters' Leilani Vitale scored the opening point. The teams went -back and forth from there, but trailing 5-4, Lipscomb went on a 9-5 run to propel ahead 13-10.

Stetson made things interesting by cutting the deficit down to 14-13, but kills by Courtney Jones pushed LUV ahead for good, as the won the third set, 25-21, and swept the Hatters in three.

Hear from Addi Pelham and Brandon Rosenthal following the Saturday win.
