The #3 Lipscomb women's soccer posted a dominant 7-0 performance against #2 Central Arkansas in the ASUN Championship Semifinal. The margin of victory is the largest in semifinal tournament history and the second largest in overall tournament history.
The Bisons fell to the Bears earlier in the regular season 2-3, their only loss in the ASUN regular season and only loss at home. With a chip on their shoulders, Lipscomb entered the match looking to compete for the ASUN Champion title.
ASUN Player of the Year
Kiara Pralle started the scoring action in the 7' minute.
Bella Carapazza entered the ball into play off a corner kick and found Pralle for a quick score to put the Bisons up.
Soon after,
Hailey Johnson found a scoring opportunity of her own in the 10' minute of action. Pralle and Carapazza were credited with assists as Johnson scored her 5
th goal of the season.
Freshman
Tatum Ahlemeyer recorded her first career goal in the 27' minute of the match assisted by
Summer Ellmore and
Katie Brightwell.
Just when the first-half scoring action seemed to be over,
Taylor James scored her second goal of the season in the 43' minute.
Faith Adams crossed the ball to James for a 4-0 lead at halftime.
By the end of the first 45 minutes of play, Lipscomb outshot Central Arkansas 10-1 and recorded 4 corner kicks.
The Bisons started the second half strong with Pralle scoring her second goal in the 54' minute. Ahlemeyer recorded her third point of the afternoon on the assist to Pralle
Pralle found the back of the net yet again in the 65' minute of action with an assist from James. With her third goal of the afternoon and 19
th goal of the year,
Kiara Pralle currently stands alone at first in the nation in goals scored this season.
James recorded her fourth and fifth points of the match in the 70' minute with her second goal.
Maddy Rhodes was credited with the assist in Lipscomb's 7
th and final goal of the match.
