THE SHORT STORY
All 15 Bisons saw court time to lead Lipscomb to a 99-67 victory over the Truett McConnell Bears on Monday night in Allen Arena.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Bisons started off hot in the first quarter, forcing 5 turnovers and going on a 12-5 run within the first 3.5 minutes of play.
Lipscomb took control of the game, never letting the lead slip. By the time halftime rolled around, the Purple and Gold were up 44-27 with 9 different Bisons contributing to the total.
Coming out of the half, the Bisons extended their lead from 17 to 26 in less than 4 minutes, in which Lipscomb went on a 14-5 run.
The final 4 minutes of regulation consisted of a lot of back-and-forth from both teams. Lipscomb outscored the Bears 16-13, with
Ross Candelino,
Jack Ingold,
Zach Lamey, and
Rylan Houck all executing on scoring opportunities.
With 14 Bisons scoring during the contest, Lipscomb emerged victorious with a score of 99-67.
HERD NOTES
- Jacob Ognacevic led all scorers with 14 points. Dylan Faulkner, Ross Candelino, and Will Pruit also scored in double digits.
- Miles White and Ross Candelino had breakout performances, with White scoring 9 points, shooting a perfect 2-2 from behind the arc with 3 rebounds and 2 blocks, and Candelino recording 12 points on 5-8 shooting in 15 minutes.
- Lipscomb scored 39 points off turnovers with 55 points coming off the bench.
