Lipscomb rounded out its 2024 non-conference slate with a 112-54 victory over Asbury on Sunday afternoon.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Lipscomb won the tip and scored on its first possession, but Asbury used hot three-point shooting to keep pace with the Bisons as Lipscomb led 14-12 at the first media timeout of the afternoon.
The back-and-forth action continued through the next few minutes as the Purple & Gold led 20-17 at the second media timeout of the half.
Out of the 7:58 media timeout, Lipscomb went on an extended 11-7 run to get out to a 39-30 lead at the under-four media timeout of the first half.
A
Gyasi Powell triple and
Dylan Faulkner bucket out of the timeout saw Lipscomb's lead extend to its largest of the afternoon, 44-30.
The Bisons used a 20-5 run over six minutes to push out to a 48-30 advantage with just under 1:30 on the halftime clock.
At the halftime buzzer, Lipscomb held a 52-30 advantage over the Asbury Eagles.
Lipscomb picked up right where it left off in the second frame. At the first media timeout of the second half, Lipscomb held a 75-38 advantage.
Lipscomb continued score at a high rate through the next several minutes to hold onto its comfortable lead.
Charlie Williams began to heat up in the second half, with seven-straight points, giving him a season-high 14 points, which put the Bisons ahead 95-47.
The Bisons rounded out its non-conference slate with a 112-54 victory over Asbury on Sunday afternoon.
HERD NOTES
- Williams scored a season-high 16 points, going 7-for-8 from the floor.
- Ognacevic led all scoring with 25 points. He notched his second double-double of the season with 12 rebounds and added four assists.
- Will Pruitt also scored double-digits, contributing 10 points.
- The Bisons had only two turnovers on the night.
