THE SHORT STORY
Lipscomb Men's Basketball bounced back Saturday afternoon with an 85-68 road victory at Central Arkansas in a critical ASUN road contest.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Lipscomb got out to a 4-0 lead in the first two possessions, but Central Arkansas settled in. The teams battled back-and-forth throughout the opening minutes as Lipscomb held a slight 13-12 advantage at the first media timeout.

Out of the break, Central Arkansas picked up its three-point shooting, giving the Bears a 24-22 lead at the second media timeout.

However, out the timeout, Lipscomb went on a 8-0 run before the Bears got back on the board. Lipscomb's run extended, capping off with a Grant Asman triple as Lipscomb jumped out to a 33-26 lead, forcing a Central Arkansas timeout.

The Bisons' offense continued to attack and its defense stifled the Bears as Lipscomb held a 39-29 lead with 5:37 to go in the half.

With a three-pointer at the halftime buzzer, the Bears cut the Lipscomb lead to single digits, but the Bisons held a 45-36 lead at the half.

Oyt of the half, Central Arkansas was the aggressor and cut the Lipscomb lead to a pair, 49-47, with 15:40 to go before McGinnis nailed a much needed triple to slow the Bears.

Lipscomb didn't panic, locking back in on defense, holding the Bears scoreless for several possessions, and got back out to a 56-49 lead at the under-16 media timeout.

Central Arkansas punched back out of the break and shaved the Lipscomb lead to a point, but the Bisons once again answered the call with a mini-run to get back to a more comfortable, 63-57 advantage at the under-12 timeout.

Lipscomb's run continued after the break, ultimately extending to a 14-0 run, giving the Bisons a 72-57 lead before Central Arkansas would get back on the board. Will Pruitt capped off the Bisons' run with the squads' 10th triple of the afternoon.

Central Arkansas tried to claw its way back in the game, but the Bisons kept its foor on the gas pedal. Asman continued to be a big factor for the Bisons as he scored his 16th points of the afternoon, marking a career-high, just before the final media timeout of the half that saw the Bisons with a 79-64 advantage.

Lipscomb was solid down the stretch and saw out an 85-68 victory over Central Arkansas in a crucial ASUN road matchup.
