Women’s Tennis Races Past Murray State in 5-2 Victory

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Lipscomb women's tennis earned their third consecutive win of the season Friday afternoon as they took on the Murray State Racers. The Bisons kept a quick pace throughout the match and brought home a 5-2 victory with solid work in doubles play, followed by strong singles play throughout the lineup.
 
The Bisons set the tone for the afternoon right away in doubles play, striking quick and fast for the first point of the match with a 6-3 win on court one from Sofiia Paladi and Mariya Dolzhenko followed just a few minutes later by a 6-4 win by Sasha Dobranos and Rut Galindo on court two.
 
Murray State put up a fight in singles play, securing the first doubles point of the afternoon with a 6-3, 6-0 win over Galindo on court two. Dolzhekno put the Bisons up once more in the match with her 6-1, 6-4 win at the No. 4 spot – her third consecutive straight-set singles win this season.
 
Paladi added to the Bisons' lead with her own straight set victory on court three (6-2, 6-4), paving the way for Anja Trbeznik to clinch the match in Lipscomb's favor with a hard-fought 6-4, 6-4 victory at the No. 5 spot.
 
Sonia Pieczynska brought home Lipscomb's final point in the match with her 6-3, 3-6 1-0 (10-7) win on court six while the Racers ended the match with a 7-6 (7-3), 6-4 win over Dobranos on court one.

The Bisons will be right back at it Sunday, Feb. 4th for their rescheduled match against Western Kentucky, set to begin at 3:00pm CT.
