Men’s Tennis Drops Match 5-2 to Hatters

DELAND, Fla. – Lipscomb men's tennis opened their 2024 conference season on Sunday against the Stetson Hatters. The Bisons claimed an early lead with the doubles point, but the Hatters found their stride in singles play and Lipscomb's squad fell 5-2.
 
The underclassman pairing of Matheus Lima and Henrique Ushizima opened up the doubles scoring for the Bisons, going 6-2 over their Hatter opponents on court three.
 
Facundo Perlov and Carlos Salas Tulla combined for a 6-4 win over their Stetson opponents on court two to clinch the doubles point for the Bisons.
 
Stetson's squad locked in for singles play and delivered four quick wins to clinch the match.
 
Matheus Lima fell 6-0. 6-4 before Krzysztof Wetoszka dropped a 6-1, 6-4 match at the top spot to give the Hatters the go-ahead point.
 
Carlos Salas Tulla then fell 7-5, 6-3 on court six before Henrique Ushizima claimed the Bisons' second point fo the match in a 6-2, 6-3 win on court three.
 
The Hatters kept the pressure up however and claimed a 7-5, 7-6 (7-5) win on court five over Facundo Perlov on court five to end the day 5-2.

Lipscomb men's tennis will next travel to Jacksonville, Fla. on Friday, Mar. 22nd to take on the North Florida Ospreys in a matchup beginning at 4:00pm CT.
