Women’s Tennis Falls 6-1 to Stetson

DELAND, Fla. – Lipscomb women's tennis took on their second ASUN opponent on Sunday with a matchup against the Stetson Hatters. After a commanding performance in doubles play, the Bisons stumbled in singles and fell 1-6 to the Hatters.
 
The Bisons collected all three doubles wins with Anja Trbeznik and Deborah Dominguez Collado combining for a 6-3 win on court three before Sasha Dobranos and Rut Galindo clinched the first point of the match with a 6-2 win on court two.
 
Sofiia Paladi and Mariya Dolzhenko delivered an insurance win in doubles with their 6-3 win on court one to send the match into singles play.
 
The Hatters stepped up their game as singles play began and quickly tied the match and took the lead with a 6-0, 6-3 win on court six over Sonia Pieczynska on court six and a 6-3, 6-3 win over Anja Trbeznik on court five.
 
The Bisons struggled to respond to the Hatters' surge as Sofiia Paladi fell 6-3, 4-6, 1-6 on court two before Stetson's squad clinched the match with a 3-6, 6-4, 6-2 win on court one over Sasha Dobranos.
 
Stetson completed their sweep over the Bisons in singles play as Rut Galindo fell 2-6, 7-5, 3-6 on court three and Mariya Dolzhenko fell 1-6 in the first set on court four and was down 0-2 in the second set before she retired.

Lipscomb women's tennis will return to action on Sunday, Mar. 24th when they travel to Kennesaw, Ga. to face off with the Kennesaw State Owls in a matchup beginning at 9:00am CT.
