Men’s Tennis Drops Close Match to Youngstown State

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Lipscomb men's tennis welcomed the Yougnstown State Penguins to the Huston-Marsh-Griffith Tennis Center for a matchup on Wednesday afternoon. The Bisons fought hard in singles play, but the Penguins took home a 4-3 win from Music City.
 
The visitors from Ohio took an early lead in the matchup after they secured the doubles point with a win over Jenrique Ushizima and Carlos Salas Tulla (6-3) on court two and a win on court three over Facundo Perlov and Antoine Testaud (6-4).
 
The Bisons put up a strong fight, but the Penguins snagged the next three wins in singles play to clinch the match. Krzysztof Wetoska fell 6-2, 6-4 at the top spot before Sebastian Dominguez fell 6-3, 6-3 on court two to put Youngstown State in clinching territory.
 
A 6-3, 6-1 win over Facundo Perlov on court four clinched the Penguins' victory before the Bisons found their stride.
 
Antoine Testaud put the Bisons on the board with his 6-2, 6-4 win on court six, followed closely by Henrique Ushizima and his 6-3, 6-2 win on court three.
 
Carlos Salas Tulla brought home the final point of the match for the Bisons with a 4-6, 6-3, 1-0 (11-9) win on court five to end the day 4-3 in the Penguins' favor.

Lipscomb's squad will be back in action Friday, Mar. 8th as they welcome IUPUI to the Huston-Marsh-Griffith Tennis Center for a matchup beginning at 1:00pm CT.
