LAWRENCE, Kan. - The Lipscomb University volleyball team dropped a Sunday contest to the No. 11 University of Kansas in straight sets from the Horejsi Family Volleyball Arena.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Ranked 11th in the latest AVCA national poll, KU was a major threat at the service line early, posting seven aces to lead 19-19 en route to a 25-13 first set victory.
In the second set, the Jayhawks got out to an early lead, but trailing 9-5, the Bisons scored five straight points off back-to-back attack errors, two kills by
Addi Pelham and a service ace by
Ninah Miranda to take the 10-9 lead.
Kansas responded with a 16-7 run of their own to take the second set, 25-16.
The Bisons did not concede in the third, keeping pace with the Jayhawks. The sixth tie of the frame saw a
Courtney Jones block to even the set at 18. Unfortunately, the home team responded thanks to three straight aces by Ayah Elnady, finishing the set on a 7-2 run to take the match in straight sets.
KEY STATISTICS
Courtney Jones committed one error on 16 swings, totaling seven kills.
Addi Pelham posted seven kills for the Bisons on a .308 swing percentage with two block assists.
Meg Mersman recorded five kills and three total blocks, while
Sophia Hudepohl assisted on 24 kills and added six digs.

After six straight matches away from the friendly confines of Allen Arena, Lipscomb will return home for The Lippy Invite presented by the Nashville Sports Council and Women in Sports Committee.
The tournament starts with a contest against SEC foe Missouri on Thursday evening at 6 p.m.
