HOW IT HAPPENED
The Bisons stormed out to a 25-19 set victory after recording 15 kills and a .423 swing percentage, led by Courtney Jones, who had the final spike of the set to finish with five.

In set number two, Eastern Kentucky took advantage of six service errors by Lipscomb, including one that saw the Colonels win the final two points to even the match at a set apiece, 26-24.

LUV got out to a 5-1 lead early in the third, but EKU used a 9-5 run to take a 10-9 lead thanks to three straight Bison attack errors.

Tied at 13, the teams went back-and-forth, but a 19-15 Colonel lead at a timeout swelled to a 25-19 victory to go ahead 2-1 in the match.

In the fourth, the duo of Jones and Karlie McNabb forced a fifth set. Each player had six kills in the set as the Bisons had 20 on 42 attempts, committing just one error. The Colonels had a similar set on their offensive attack, 15 kills and three errors on 37 swings, but it was not enough as the Bisons won 25-19 to force the final frame.

Going to the final set, it was all Colonels, as they got out to a 6-3 and 11-5 leads. However, the Bisons did not quit, as they forced lingering death thanks to five kills by McNabb.

After Jones tied the contest at 16 on a kill, following an attack error by EKU, Jones sealed the match with a service ace.

The match saw 24 ties and nine lead changes. 11 ties and five lead changes came in the second set alone.
