Women's Soccer Posts Clean Sheet in 3-0 Win over Lions

NASHVILLE - After a scoreless first half, the Lipscomb University women's soccer team scored three goals in the final 45 to knock off the University of North Alabama, 3-0, Sunday afternoon from the Lipscomb Soccer Complex.

Final Score: Lipscomb 3, North Alabama 0
Location: Lipscomb Soccer Complex
Records: Lipscomb (6-3-2, 2-1-1), North Alabama (3-7, 1-3)

The Bisons played a strong first half offensive attack, posting six shots in the first 20 minutes of action. In the 27th minute, the Bisons had three major opportunities to find the back end of the net off corners, but the Lions were able to send the ball out to the midfield.

Lipscomb kept North Alabama away from their side of the field for most of the first 45, recording a 64% possession. The Lions did not see their first shot attempt until the 41st minute by Olivia Heinert and it was stopped by Kaina Cesar.

After committing three fouls in the first half, the Bisons caught themselves in trouble, committing two quick fouls in the first 2:30 of the second half. After a caution was issued, the Lions were unable to convert on a shot attempt by Giada Aldini.

In the 61st minute, we finally had a dent in the scoreboard. Lucy Hurst found Hailey Johnson for her second goal of the season to put the home squad up 1-0.

In the 73rd minute, after a blocked shot by Johnson, a foul in the box gave Bella Carapazza a penalty kick opportunity. The sophomore was able to convert in bottom left of the net to make it a 2-0 advantage.

The Bisons were able to add another one in the 86th minute, as Jaide Simone Prejean scored her first of the year as a part of the team's 15th corner kick of the day.

The offense was dominant on Sunday, posting 12 shots on goal and 15 corner kicks. They also held the ball for 65% of the contest.

Six of those shots came from Kiara Pralle, while Bella Carapazza had three shots on target and four overall.

On the other end, North Alabama was held to two shots.
