PROVO, Utah - The Lipscomb University volleyball team wrapped up the weekend at the BYU Nike Invitational with a straight-set loss to the No. 19 Georgia Institute of Technology, Friday evening from the Smith Fieldhouse on the campus of Brigham Young University.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Jackets got out to a strong start in the opening set with a 7-2 lead after three straight attack errors by the Bisons.
Later in the set, after a
Berkley Mischler block and an
Addi Pelham kill to cut the deficit to 13-10, Georgia Tech kept the foot on the gas pedal and finished the set on a 12-6 run to take the opening set victory.
Set number two saw a back-and-forth battle early on. Tied at seven, the Ramblin' Wreck posted a 12-3 run to cruise to a 25-16 win and the 2-0 match lead.
The Bisons began to show life in the third frame, getting out to an 11-8 lead after back-to-back aces by
Courtney Jones. Unfortunately, the Jackets came right back and tied the match at 15.
Later in the set, Georgia Tech ended the set with seven straight points to earn the sweep.
