THE SHORT STORY
Lipscomb Men's Basketball overcame a poor shooting performance on Saturday to pick up its sixth ASUN victory at Central Arkansas.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Neither team shot the ball well at the start of the game, with just nine points total scored in the first six minutes of the matchup.
The teams settled in over the next couple of minutes, however, and picked up the scoring. Lipscomb pulled out to a 16-7 advantage, forcing a Central Arkansas timeout with 12:05 on the clock.
Out of the break, Central Arkansas picked up its offense, tying the game at 22 each with just over four minutes to play in the half. Joe Anderson responded with a tiple, retaking a 25-22 Lipscomb lead just before the final media timeout of the first frame.
The Bisons pulled back out to a 33-27 advantage with just over 22 seconds to play, but a Lipscomb flagrant foul gave Central Arkansas a pair of shots at the charity stripe and the ball back with 22.7 seconds on the clock.
The Bears converted one from the line, but Lipscomb's defense held strong and kept the Bears without a bucket on its final possession. Lipscomb held a narrow 33-28 advantage at the break.
Lipscomb outscored Central Arkansas 7-4 to open the second half for a 40-32 advantage at the first media timeout of the frame.
Out of the timeout, the Bisons got out to its largest lead of the afternoon, 45-34. Central Arkansas, however, cut right back into that lead, 47-39 with the help of a quick 5-0 run.
With just over eight and a half minutes in the game, Central Arkansas picked up a pair of flagrant fouls, allowing a four-point swing in favor of the Bisons and a 54-42 lead.
The game took a while to get back in a flow, but the Bisons took advantage and got out to its largest lead, 64-49, after a Will Pruitt traditional three point play with just under four minutes to play.
Lipscomb continued to stay in front for the remainder of the game, ultimately earning a 68-55 victory over Central Arkansas on Saturday afternoon.

Lipscomb will return to Allen Arena on Thursday, Jan. 30 against EKU. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. CT.

- Ognacevic secured his sixth double-double of the season with 14 points and 11 rebounds.
- Will Pruitt led all scorers with 18 points while Anderson finished with 17 points.
- Anderson finished the game with seven steals, matching his career high. The Bisons shot 41.1-percent from the floor and overcame a 17.6-percent outing from three.
