NASHVILLE – Led by a career-high in scoring by
Ainhoa Cea and a 29-10 fourth quarter, the Lipscomb University women's basketball team downed Eastern Kentucky University, 79-48, in a Saturday afternoon contest from Allen Arena.
The Colonels, who saw their 10-game win streak come to an end on Saturday, are currently receiving votes in the latest Mid-Major Poll, presented by College Insider.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Colonels had the advantage early with eight of their first nine points off of four turnovers by the Bisons. However, back-to-back triples by
Jalyn Holcomb and
Bella Vinson gave the home team the 11-9 edge with 3:49 left in the quarter.
Lipscomb, despite a mini scoring drought, ended the quarter on a 9-3 run after 3-pointers by
Ainhoa Cea and
Addison Melton that helped swell the lead to 20-12 after one quarter of play.
In the second quarter, a 10-3 run thanks to late 3-pointers by Cea and Holcomb helped the Bisons increase their lead to 17 points, 38-21, at the break.
After Lipscomb shot 52% through the first 20 minutes, Eastern Kentucky held them to 4-of-15 from teh floor and cut the deficit from 20 to 12 after 30 minutes of play, 50-38.
However, the fourth quarter was a major shift in Lipscomb's direction. After cutting the deficit to nine points on an Althea Kara Angeles jumper with 6:41 left, that would be the last field goal the Colonels would convert in the game.
From there, the Bisons scored 24 straight points in a 5:39 span to seal the victory.
KEY STATISTICS
Ainhoa Cea scored a career-high 25 points on 9-of-18 shooting and 5-of-6 from downtown. 17 of her points came in the first half thanks to 6-of-10 and four triples. The junior also posted six rebounds, four assists and four steals to her stat line.
Molly Heard recorded a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds and added three steals.
Jalyn Holcomb knocked down three triples and finished with 13 points, while
Bella Vinson scored 12 points.
HERD NOTES
Since joining the ASUN in 2003-04, Lipscomb has started 2-0 in conference play five times, including three straight seasons (2005, 2011, 2023, 2024, 2025).
For
Ainhoa Cea, it is the first 20-point game of her career and the seventh with 10 or more points, including four this season.
The Bisons drained 17-of-18 from the charity stripe, posting the most free throws in a game this season.
